The tour has 11 events scheduled in countries throughout Latin America )Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and, of course, the Dominican Republic) running from September through December 2012. Starting in Mexico with two new events. There is a total of 53 players from eight nations who have qualified to play the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica inaugural season.
The Dominican Republic Open runs from November 5th to the 11th, 2012 at the Cana Bay Golf Club in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The purse for the winner is a whopping $125,000 US Dollars.

*Longest Street Theater – Grand Street Theater from Parque Duarte to Plaza España Friday 12 from 7pm to 9pm
*5 Music Festivals in so called “Rincones” (a corner or corner store) with different music genres Urban music, Jazz & Blues, Latin, Salsa & Son) *A Handcraft Market
*Midevil Market at Fortaleza Ozama Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 from 10am – 8pm
*Gastronomic Tour with restaurants offering Dominican cuisine-themed menus
*Big concert at the Plaza España
*All the museums will be open until midnight Friday 12 from 9am – 12am
*Fiesta Real at the Museo de Casas Reales Saturday 13 at 8pm
*The Cathedral Choir and Symphony will be at Plaza de Colón Sunday 14 at 11:30am
*One of the events I look forward to is the ringing of the church bells of the Colonial City. They will all be ringing at the same time throughout the entire city. The sound is spectacular.
All concerts and music venues will have a VIP area, bars, music and more. The music will be each day of the Festival from 4PM to 10PM.
Rincón del Jazz – The Jazz & Blues Music Festival will be at Parque Fray Bartolome de las Casas on Calle Hostos and Luperon.
Rincon de Café de Toi – Cafe de Toi will be on Calle Hostos with Conde and bringing surpise music.
Rincon Latino – Sponsored by the club Jet Set will be on Calle Hostos and Resturacion at the Ruinas of San Francisco with groups & artists of Latin music genres Dominican merengue, salsa and bachata.

The XIII Edition of Santo Domingo Jazz Festival Casa de Teatro 2012.
There will be some great jazz bands every Thursday from June 14 to July 26,2012 starting at 9PM, there will be a cover charge at the door. There will be a total of seven (7) concerts. There will be groups and artists from Venezuela, France, Spain and the Dominican Republic.
This 13th edition of the Casa de Teatro Jazz Festival will have a very special event with a tribute to Wilfrido Vargas on June 28, called “Homenaje a Wilfrido Var-jazz”, with the participation of Rafelito Mirabal y Sistema Temperado.

EXPOMANGO is a festival and show to celebrate the Dominican mango harvest in the town of Bani. Bani is a town in the south of the Dominican Republic and is the capital of the province Peravia. Bani, known as the Mango Capital/ Capital de Mango, is known for producing some of the best and largest varieties of mangos in the country. Here is the birthplace of the famous mango the giant ‘Banilejo’.
The festival was launched in 2005. They want to shows visitors hundreds of mango varieties in our country. They will be displaying the available technologies for mango production. There will be many tables of various vendors and business selling and displaying their wares. There will be many competitions all mango related including cooking.. The visitors will also see a mango plantation harvest and taste the various varieties of the Dominican mango.

International Dinghy Association (IODA) World Sailing Championship will be holding their regatta in Boca Chica, Andres Bay, República Dominicana at the Santo Domingo Yacht Club July 15 through July 26, 2012.
Organized by the Asociación Dominicana de Optimist (ADO), hosted by the Club Náutico de Santo Domingo (CNSD)in Boca Chica with the support of the Dominican Sailing Federation.
The regatta is one of the most important sailing events to take place in the Dominican Republic and the World. There are around 300 competitors from 70 countries expected to compete.

Sunday, July 15 is the official arrival day with registrations and measurements.
Monday, July 16 is the practice race and opening ceremony.
Tuesday, July 17 through Wednesday, July 25 the races will be held.

The course for the fleet racing will be an outer-loop trapezoid with the finish line at the end of the second windward leg. For the team racing championships the course will be a starboard “S” course.
