The Ministerio de Cultura announced La XIII Feria Nacional de Artesanías Dominicanas (FENART 2014) del 11 al 14 de diciembre en la Fortaleza Ozama, ubicada en la Ciudad Colonial / The 13th National Dominican Handicraft Fair from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 December at the Fortaleza Ozama, located in the Colonial City. It will run form around 10AM to dusk daily and will involve more than 225 artisans.

Each year FENART dedicates the show to a different area of Dominican Republic and their art and culture. This years show is dedicated to the craftsmen of the Province Peravia. They are known for their typical wooden pylons / pilones de madera, traditional rocking chairs / las mecedoras tradicionales and rag dolls / las muñecas de trapoare. The “Banilejo” folklore, cuisine, dances and popular “chuineros”. There will also be art represented from many other provinces including Puerto Plata, El Seibo, Azua, Bonao, La Romana, Hato Mayor, Barahona, Peravia and more.
The XIII National Crafts Fair will have performances, various attractions and new products. It is a great place to buy craft quality products and good price for yourself of for a gift or maybe a unique and one of a kind Christmas present.
