Amigos de Aves offers free bird watching walks in the Jardín Botánico Nacional/ The National Botanical Garden in Santo Domingo the first Sunday of each month.
We meet at the main gate at 7AM on Sunday morning. We lend binoculars and one of the members will be the guide. The walk generally lasts 3 hours along paved paths. The garden is the best place in Santo Domingo to learn about the common birds of Hispaniola.

One of the most common but also most special bird one can see on the tour is the Palm Chat, the national bird.
