4th National Living Statues Festival 8-23 to 25-2013

Living statues are coming to Dominican Republic. This artistic theater will be an artistic theater that integrates performance techniques, pantomime, dance and visual arts bringing it to the public in a unique way. There will be singles and groups showing everyday life situations, characters and historical classics and also a bit of mysticism in The Fourth National Living Statues Festival/ IV Festival Nacional de Estatuas Vivas August 2013.

The public exhibition will be held from 6 to 9PM, Friday 23, 2013 in Parque Colón, Colonial Zone. Saturday 24 they will be at Plaza Güibia on the Malecon of Santo Domingo. Sunday 25 they move to Av. La Marina in Samaná to to help celebrate the 257 anniversary of its foundation. In the Samana celebration there will be leading artists and community residents all joined together to clean the shoreline at Carenero beach.

The “statues” have a chance to win some cash prizes in the categories of Mejor Trabajo de Dilatación (The best still statue), Mejor Técnica de Vestuario y Maquillaje (Best Costume and Makeup Technique),Mejor Conceptualización y Mejor Gesto o Reacción Sonora (Best Concept and Best Reaction).
