The Dominican Republic Jazz Festival Celebrates 18 Years this November 2014. Starting on Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 they will be bringing great jazz music to the North Coast towns of Puerto Plata, Sosua and Cabarete. The Festival is free, but VIP Tickets are available. The DR Jazz Fest is presented by the Dominican Ministry of Tourism, with sponsors such as Jetblue, Ron Macorix and many other local businesses.
The Dominican Republic Jazz Festival Celebrates 18 Years on November 6-9, 2014
The festival brings world renowned jazz musicians to the DR and also educates the youth with student workshops to educate aspiring Jazz artists. Last year the festival broke all of its past records with a record breaking attendance of 10,000 people for the four nights of free concerts.

*Big Band of the National Conservatory of Music from Dominican Republic
*Colin Hunter and the Joe Sealy Quartet from Canada known for playing many of the jazz hits from the 1950’s.
*Blues music by Patricia Pereyra and Band, Musical Direction: Rafelito Mirabal and Guy Frometa, with Special Guest: Alex Jacquemin from France
November 7 – Sosua – Hotel Casa Marina Amphitheater – 8PM

*Ignacio Berroa Group from USA with Giovanni Hidalgo from Puerto Rico
*Berklee Global Jazz Institute with Special Guest Joe Lovano both from USA
