The National District City Council / El Ayuntamiento del Distrito Nacional (ADN) signed with the Spanish Embassy and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECI) to renovate the Plaza de la Iglesia de Santa Bárbara area of Colonial Zone. They say they will fix several homes in Santa Barbara, and restore the walls surrounding Santa Barbara. They will also improve the condition of the streets and the Plaza or the Church of Santa Barbara. They say they will also resolve the garbage problem which will lead to a reduction of pollution from the use of chemicals. They will implement channel sewage, improve water service and electricity.
The AECI is the same company that placed the new lights all along Calle el Conde.
