This program started in a small part of the Colonial City and now has moved into a larger area of the old city. This program is being sponsored in 4 cities including ours.
Some people came around today knocking on doors passing out the information, the bags for the recyclable materials and explaining about this great program. Each month you can pick-up new bags at the Operations Center at Town Hall of the National District Palacio Consistorial on Meriño Street and Calle el Conde in front of Colon Park. Phone: 809-689-9226

All the items received for the recycling project
We will be separating plastic, aluminum and tin / plástico, aluminio y estaño placing in the blue bag and putting it in the street every Monday. Tuesdays is paper/ papel products in the yellow bag. Wednesday is carton/ cartón day. Al will be picked-up between 6PM to 8PM.
Regular garbage pick-up will continue as always.
I am so excited about this project. I hope it works as planned and all participate to make the streets of the Colonial City be garbage-free. Then as the program progresses maybe someday it will happen throughout the entire country.
