Chinese New Year of the Dragon/ Año Nuevo Chino del Dragón
The Dragon in the Chinese horoscope is a sign of wealth, strength and power. The the year of the Dragon is from January 23, 2012 to February 9, 2013, according to the Chinese calendar. The festival signifies the beginning of Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival.
Su King Fung, the president of the China Colonia Center, Inc./ Centro de la Colonia China, Inc. announced the celebration will begin at 5:00 pm with the Dragon Dance and Lion Dance, art activities, magic, singing and a presentation of Chinese martial arts.
The party is in China Town/ Barrio Chino in Santo Domingo on Avenida Duarte.
