Body Worlds in Santo Domingo

After decades of research, Dr. Gunther von Hagens designed this pioneering exhibition because he wanted to educate the public about the inner workings of the human body and show the beneficial effects of good and poor health choices, and teach us how much our lifestyle affects our health. The Doctor uses a special process called “plastination” for the conservation of the bodies and organs donated by people who said their bodies could be used for educational purposes.

This exhibit has received more than 35 million visitors worldwide. In the Dominican Republic, the exhibit consists of 20 bodies and 200 organs including a presentation of the evolution of the heart. This exhibit is for the entire family, young and old alike bringing awareness to how different actions can effect the body.

Body Worlds is open daily for the general public from 10AM to 10PM until February 16, 2013. The cost is RD$595 for adults and children aged 4 to 12 RD$395.
