The World Happiness report is out with the results for 2015. Dominican Republic placed 98 out of 158 countries included in the list.
The list took into consideration many factors including levels of GDP (Gross Domestic Product – GDP’ The monetary value of all the finished goods and services produced within a country’s borders in a specific time period, though GDP is usually calculated on an annual basis), life expectancy, generosity, social support, freedom, and corruption. They analyzed, made charts took Gallup World Polls and came to this conclusion.
The report is produced by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and contains analysis from leading experts in the fields of economics, neuroscience, and national statistics. In addition to ranking the countries, the report also describes how the measurement of something as subjective as happiness can and should be used as a way of assessing national progress. The goal is not just to inform but also to inspire reform.
