This year the Dominican Republic hosts the 50th Anniversary of the World Tennis Invitational and the Special Olympics Global Athletes Congress / Invitacional Mundial de Tenis y el Congreso Global de Atletas de Olimpiadas Especiales. The country is confirming its commitment to the promotion of societies with greater inclusion, respect and dignified treatment of people with different abilities.
The Dominican Republic and the First Lady, Cándida Montilla de Medina, will host the World Tennis Invitational Tournament and the Special Olympics Global Athletes Congress will be held in Parque Mirador Del Este, Santo Domingo from November 9 to 17, 20148. 220 athletes, 100 coaches, 500 families, 50 judges and officials, from 30 countries around the world will be participating in the event.
