The Carrera Gatorade 10K is happening on Sunday May 8, 2011. It will start at 4:30PM at the Plaza Juan Baron along the Malecon (Avenida George Washington) in Cuidad Nueva. The route starts and finishes at the Plaza.
This annual race uses the funds it receives to benefit different organizations in Dominican Republic. This year will be the 5th version of Gatorade 10K and will benefit the Programa Deja Tu Huella / Make Your Mark program. All the entry fees will be donated to the program and will benefit thousands of poor Dominican children.
You can register at the web site www.gatorade.com.do. Registration is $300 pesos per person. Why not register even if you are not planning to run. It is for a good cause. You can also donate in a friends name.
After the race there will be lots of stuff happening at the Plaza Juan Baron. David Almengod and Tanke Lab will be performing. There will also be VJ’s and DJ’s and at the end there will be a fireworks display.
