Happy Hours, Concerts, Specials, Shows and whatever else is going in the Colonial Zone and surrounding area this Christmas 2015. Some of these events may be changed because of the holidays. I will try to keep up on all the things happening this holiday season.
It is Christmas and New Year’s Eve time again. Dominicans sure know how to celebrate Navidad and Año Nuevo. The streets are full of happy people. Neighborhoods all want to decorate their streets and parks to get into the festive spirit of things.

Many family members return home to be with family and friends for the entire month. There is music and activities all over the country until the first week in January when the country celebrates 3 Kings Day then all goes back to normal again.

Meriño, y Casas del XVI, Arzobispo Nouel #3. Estará abierta hasta el 22 de diciembre. / The Contemporary Art exhibition of the artist Quisqueya Henriquez produced in collaboration with Lucy Garcia. *Cinema – Sleigh Ride – A 4D Christmas Ride, where the kids would be able to enjoy a ride on Santa’s sleigh while giving out presents on Christmas eve. At the The Colonial Gate 4D Cinema, Calle Isabel la Católica, from December 6th, 2015 till January 10th, 2016. The film plays every 20 minutes from 10AM to 11PM. *News – The hours for all Bars, Discotheques, Restaurants, Colmados and other businesses selling alcoholic beverages are non existent. These establishments can be open for as long as they wish with no closing time restrictions. The Ministry of Interior and Police announced that it is lifting alcohol sales restrictions from December 10, 2015 until January 8, 2016. Have a good time and be careful out there.

*Party – Bar Parada 77 on Calle Isabel la Católica #255, is celebrating their 15th year in business. There will be music by Diomary La Mala. They also say there will be many surprises. The party begins at 8PM and continues until—??
*Event – The light spectacular Brilliante Navidad / Sparkling Christmas will have it’s opening inauguration from 4 to 6pm. It will be open to the public until 7 January 2016. The park will have five scenarios with simultaneous presentations including magicians, ballet, dance, Christmas Carols / magos, ballet, danza, cuento de Navidad. Located at the Parque Iberoamérica (the old Zoo), next to the Conservatorio Nacional de Música / National Music Conservatory on Avenida Bolívar and Alma Máter, La Esperilla, Santo Domingo. Please try and use public transportation to visit the park so as to cut down on the congestion in the streets and make life a little easier for the neighborhood.
