Dominicana Moda 2012 – 6 full days of shows and displays dedicated to fashion, fashion and more fashion. This is the seventh year for Dominicana Moda, the most advertised event in the history of Dominican Republic.

The Dominican equivalent of Fashion Week will be held at the Hotel Embajador (Av. Sarasota esq. Nunez de Caceres Santo Domingo) October 22 through the 27, 2012 daily from 10AM to 1AM. Cost to enter is: RD$700, RD$1,000 and RD$1,500.
There will be exhibits by designers, manufactures, distributors and the sponsor companies will be present also. Exhibits and vendors cover beauty, telecommunications, transportation, banking, accessories and more. The event is organized by: Dominicana Moda and Occidental Hotels.
The catwalk will be presenting items from noted international designers in different categories including Established Designers, Young Designers, Dominican Brands, Dominicans Abroad and International Guests.
Established designers include: Leonel Lirio, Moisés Quesada, Luis Dominguez, Larissa Salcedo, Jacqueline Then, Modesta Castillo, Gutierrez y Marcano, Giannina Azar, Jusef Sánchez, Damaris Rubio, Oriett Domenech, José Jhan, Linandra Javier, Blue Island and Karla Riggs
The new comers are: Lindsie Soto, Nelson Tavarez, Miguel Genao, Emmy George Báez, Yndra Rodríguez, Keyther Estévez, Azukita by Wendy Luzón, Karlos Nuñez and Escuela Chavón

Elie Saab the Lebaneese Designer who dressed Halle Berry for her Best Actress Oscar win in 2002 will be closing the event on Saturday 27th October, 2012 with the “Fashion for Help 2012” charity event.
The first time Dominican Republic held the week dedicated to fashion was in 2006. In 2008, the event reached its peak becoming an integrated platform of fashion, combining the catwalks, food, entertainment, trade, exhibition and sale of products and services.
The event has had a spirit of social responsibility donating part of their income to 22 different charities throughout the country.
