COVID-19 Pictures 4-14-2020

April 14, 2020April 14, 2020 J.L. Keys

The Dominican Republic is still under an emergency declaration. They are asking for home isolation and the curfew is from 5PM to 6AM. People can be arrested and have their vehicles confiscated if they are in violation of the curfew.

Here are some pictures I took of life during COVID-19. Remember please, I am NOT in any way an expert on how to survive this pandemic. I am only sharing some pictures on what is happening in my neighborhood and asking all to take precautions so we can get through this.

Av. España, Villa Duarte in front of the Plaza Monumento A La Caña. There is no traffic in the streets at 8:30AM when the streets are usually full of vehicles.

The Plan de Asistencia Social de la Presidencia (PASP) / Presidental Social Assistance Plan has stepped up the food they are supplying for all people. They are going door to door with bags of food. This is some of what is in those bags.

The military is always guarding this building. Their presence has more than tripled as they are preparing to get the food out to the people at The Plan de Asistencia Social de la Presidencia (PASP).

It is best to STAY AT HOME. But, if you must venture out, please make sure to wear a mask when going outside or any place there could be humans. Use hand sanitizer often. Remember, when entering your home after being out, sanitize your shoes and clothing and anything that was in contact with anyone. Wash your hands often at home and use sanitizer when outside. Take care of the food you buy you have no idea who touched it before you. Clean and sanitize the containers. Be aware of the packaging and bags that people could have touched.

Take care everyone. We will get through this if we work together.

I use a steam cleaner to sanitise some of my items when I enter the home.
