“Navidad sin Violencia Doméstica” / “Christmas Without Domestic Violence” will be held at Parque San José de Montesinos, Ciudad Colonial on Calle 19 Marzo and George Washington (Malecon), Saturday November 30, 2013 from 10AM to 10PM.

This event is organized by la Fundación Canción Para el Mundo, El Puente del Arte and la Junta de Vecinos San José Montesinos, la Fundación INDARTE. They want to bring awareness to the Dominican family of the traumatic consequences of the social scourge of violence in general and in particular domestic violence while providing healthy and educational recreation this Christmas.
The activities include educational workshops, painting, handmade art, theater, plays, poetry recital. There will be performances by Virna García, Mariela, Duo Cyndi and holly-R, El Ciego que Canta, Jordano Morel, El Chico Boy, Lency Moreno, Joan Jorge, Atrévete (agrupación merenguera de no videntes / a group from the Merengue Association for the Blind), Ambar, Fiesta Típica Dominicana de Víctor Jota and closing with the concert Soy Mujer by Alicia Baroni. There will be a strong presence of artists with disabilities.
